PURPOSE
The purpose of the Sunday School is to extend the kingdom of God through educational, spiritual, missionary and benevolent work of the Wesleyan Holiness Church to which we ​are committed and fulfill the Great Commission.
FUNCTION
Each local church provides a Sunday school ministry which normally serves as the basic agency for small group systematic Bible study. The Bible studies and other programs or events promote ​making more and better disciples of Jesus Christ.

ADMINISTRATION / STRUCTURE

The District Sunday School Secretary is tasked with working with the local churches Sunday School Superintendents who are responsible for the operations of Sunday School. In addition, the District Sunday School Secretary works in collaboration with the District Education Secretary and the District Education Committee in executing functions and scheduled activities of the Department.

The Sunday School Department is governed by the Pastor of each local church and managed by a Sunday School Superintendent who is responsible for the Sunday School teachers and students. They also provide statistical and qualitative quarterly reports to the district. Also, the Sunday School Superintendents provides access to Sunday school materials including curriculum where the prescribed Sunday School books are derived from the Wesleyan Publishing House.

The Sunday School Department caters to children and adults at different stages of development for spiritual growth and maturity. Sunday school aims to:
  • Teach Biblical Truth
  • Promote Christian values
  • Provide Christian education
  • Nurture spiritual gifts
  • Discover talents
  • Train minds
  • Develop Christians
  • Inspire others
  • Lead followers to Christ
  • Grow God’s Kingdom
 
The Sunday School class structures include:
  • Kindergartens
  • Primaries
  • Juniors
  • Teens / Youth
  • Adults
ACTIVITIES

  • Bible Study – studying the books of the Bible

  • Sunday School Training and Development
  • Vacation Bible School
  • District Sunday School Rally
  • Easter Program Activities
  • Child Month Activities
  • Mother’s Day and Father’s Day Activities
  • Cultural Activities including Emancipation, Independence & Hero’s days
  • Back to School Activities
  • Christmas Program Activities

To reach, teach, and minister to persons within the local church as well as the wider community and spread the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all ages.

To grow and nurture God’s Kingdom and enhance teaching / learning methods.
