THE HISTORY OF MAHOE WESLEYAN HOLINESS CHURCH
This church was organized by missionaries from USA in the thirties (30’s). Namely, Rev. H. C. Dixon, Sis. Deenie Ebanks, Sis. Nettie Rivers and Sis. Jones. The parcel of land to build the church was given by Mr. Adajinah Bender of the Mahoe church.
The church was established under the name of Pilgrim Holiness Church, she continued under this name until 1968, she merged with the Wesleyan Methodist Church and end up with the name Mahoe Wesleyan Holiness Church.
The first stationed pastor was Pastor Joshua Thomas; followed by Rev. Gersham Gray, then Rev. Porsha Sutherland. Other pastors that followed are Pastor Gilbert Powell, Pastor Mavis McDonald, Pastor Ernest Edwards, Revd’s David and Lucille Molloy, then Rev. Alexander Robinson.
The church was a very strong missionary church on Eastern Jamaica District and produced ministers of all ages.
