Wesleyan Women's Ministry
WESLEYAN WOMEN MINISTRY
The Wesleyan Women (WW) ministry is established to inspire, encourage and enable the Wesleyan Women’s effective participation in the God-ordained work of the Wesleyan Holiness Church (WHC). Among its roles and responsibilities, the WW ministers to the total woman--spirit, mind, and body, and provides oversight of the Wesleyan Children ministry. Over the years, all our East Jamaica WW District Directors, with the help of the District Superintendents and Board Members, Pastors, WW District and Local Executives, and the support of the general WW membership, have sought diligently to adhere to the guiding principles and standards, without compromise, to advance the kingdom of God through the work of the WW. We were called into God’s kingdom, for such a time as this. We are “Women of Purpose”. Our Mission “To seek to extend the kingdom of God through the missionary, extension, educational, and benevolent work of the WHC at home and abroad, by stimulating interest therein, by sharing information about the work, by encouraging a spirit of prayer, by putting forth a systematic effort to raise money as set forth in its constitution, by carrying on an active program of community and women’s ministries in the areas of lay evangelism, Christian home building, Christian citizenship, and Christian social service, and by providing a fellowship within which such missionary work may prosper…” |
Key Initiatives and Outcomes
Wesleyan Women Month The month of June is traditionally designated as “Wesleyan Women Month” by the East Jamaica WW. During the month, each local WW group engages in various activities to promote the purpose of the WW. Commendations Special commendations to the WW groupings, including the Wesleyan Children, who, despite the restrictions of the prevailing pandemic, are able to continue their support for activities at the local levels and further afield. This give practical and impactful meaning to our theme for the next four years, which is: “The Power that Sustains in a Changing World”.
